The best version of “O Come All Ye Faithful” EVER. (Music Wednesday)

We have all heard several different versions of the Christmas carols. I especially love it when an artist puts a new twist to one of the older tunes, thus freshening it up. it always makes me think more about the words and the meaning of the song.

This year, tobyMac put out a Christmas album. (That in and of itself pretty much equals awesomeness.)And on it he sang what I think is the very best version of “O Come, All Ye Faithful” that I have ever heard.

….Come let us adore Him…gonna lift, gonna lift His name on high. His name, His name on high. Gonna lift, gonna lift His name on high….’till the break of dawn we’re gonna sing this song. Celebrate the day that our Savior’s born, when Love reached down to all of mankind, born of a virgin on a starry night. So I’ll set he clock back so we can go long, ’cause you and you and you, we all belong to the one King, the real thing. We sing: Come let us adore Him….we worship….
