To be honest, at the beginning, this summer looked like it was going to be pretty crummy.
Horrible, in fact.
(For reasons I won’t go into.)
But do you know what?
It ended up being one of my most favorite summers ever.
There have still been moments of dark sadness. There have still been days of aching.
But there were many, many, many moments of joy.
God has taught me many things this year.
Too many to list in fact.
But I think that one of my favorites has been:
He can make the gloomiest forecasts turn out out to be full of sunbeams.
When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dream.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy;
then they said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us;
we are glad.
